Introduction
The “POLICE” SA Chemical Plant declare, that it will register the produced chemical substances (in their own form and as components of preparations), according to the European Parliament and Council Order (WE) 1907/2006, of December the 18th 2006 regarding registration, evaluation, authorization and restriction in the scope of chemicals (REACH).
REACH is an abbreviation for Regulation for Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation and Restriction of Chemicals. The regulations of the aforementioned Order took effect on 2007-06-01. Their aim is to facilitate and improve the previous legislation regarding chemical substances in the European Union (EU). The REACH system imposes on the industry a greater responsibility connected with management of risks which the chemical substances can create with reference to human health and the environment.
In connection therewith, intensive works are currently carried out, aiming at registration of chemical substances in the European Chemicals Agency (ACHA) in Helsinki.
The company’s vital interest is to run an information campaign about REACH for the further users (FU) of the chemicals produced in “POLICE”. An aware FU allows the producer to fluently implement the new trade law.
In 2007, a separate organization section was established in the Plant - the REACH Department – the task of which is to coordinate all the actions aiming at the Company’s meeting of all the obligations under REACH.
